MEDLINE, CINAHL, PubMed, EMBASE, PsycINFO, and PEDro are the six electronic databases that were thoroughly searched. Occupational therapy, telerehabilitation, and a variety of patient groups and diseases were among the search phrases used. A search of the relevant publications' reference lists was also conducted to find any studies that could have been overlooked.
Research on telerehabilitation for non-occupational treatment objectives or in other healthcare fields was not included in the analysis. Examining the titles and abstracts of the selected papers separately, two reviewers determined which ones were eligible. Using a preset data extraction form, full-text publications of pertinent research were obtained and evaluated for inclusion. The included studies' methodological rigor was assessed using standardized quality rating instruments
Quantitative data were taken from the research included and combined using meta-analysis methods. Narrative synthesis was employed for qualitative data, and heterogeneity across research was evaluated. Clinical efficacy, patient satisfaction and adherence, cost-effectiveness, accessibility and equity, and therapist experiences were the five main objectives of the review, which guided the categorization and analysis of the data.
